Reipas est un mot Finlandais évoquant le positif, l’élévation, la motivation.
Dinny et Guillaume, venant de cultures différentes, partagent l’envie d’exprimer de nouvelles idées avec la musique.
Originaire d’Irlande et inspirée par l’atmosphère de sa scène folk où les gens se rencontrent pour partager leur musique, Dinny joue du clavier, écrit les paroles et crée les mélodies pour exprimer des histoires et des expériences.
Guillaume est un bassiste qui a joué dans plusieurs groupes parisiens depuis 15 ans (Pregnant, Uneven...entre autres) et toujours en activité avec les Crippled old farts (hardcore old school).
Ils jouaient tous deux en 2008 dans A Cob of Maize, groupe éphémère de la scène indépendante nourrie aux sons de Fugazi et Pavement.
Quand le groupe s’est séparé, Guillaume est passé à la guitare folk et le duo a continué à écrire des chansons ensemble, influencé par l’indie rock des 90’s et tout un tas de groupes allant de Pinback à The Magic Numbers en passant par Ray Lamontagne ou Pretty Girls Make Graves…
Les premiers concerts ont emmené Reipas dans plusieurs villes françaises et à Paris, 2010 verra notamment Londres et Bruxelles ainsi que la sortie du premier album en cours d’enregistrement.
Reipas is a Finnish word wich means positive, uplifting and motivated.
Dinny and Guillaume, coming from different cultures, both share the desire to try new ideas with music.
Coming from Ireland and inspired by the atmosphere of its folk scene where people meet to share their music, Dinny plays keyboard, writes lyrics and creates melodic lines in a way to express stories and experiences.
Guillaume is a bassist who played in many Paris bands over 15 years (Pregnant, Uneven...to name a few), today still plays bass with Crippled old farts (old school punk band).
They both played in 2008 in A Cob of Maize, an ephemeral band from the independent scene fed by the sounds of Fugazi and Pavement.
When the band split, Guillaume grabed the folk guitar and the duo continued to write songs together, influenced by the 90’s indie rock et all kind of bands, from Pinback to The Magic Numbers and by Ray Lamontagne or Pretty Girls Make Graves…
The first gigs brought Reipas in several French cities and to Paris, 2010 will see among others London and Bruxelles as well as the released of their first album currently in recording process.
